Cetonischema speciosa cyanochlora (Sapphire Flower Beetle) x1 Larvae
Cetonischema speciosa cyanochlora is a Sapphire, metallic flower beetle from Iran that thrives in warm, moderately humid conditions and lives naturally in small, nocturnal groups. It does well at daytime temperatures of 25–26°C, cooler nights of 18–22°C, and humidity between 60–80%. In captivity it feeds on fruit jellies and the leaf debris mixed into its substrate.
A terrarium or fauna box with a dedicated flower beetle substrate works well, using a dry‑to‑moist ratio of about 2:1. Terrarium or foliage plants provide shelter and encourage natural behaviour. Development is medium paced, with larvae taking around six to eight months to hatch and adults living three to four years. The species is gregarious and beginner‑friendly, though it may show some food competitiveness, so offering more than one feeding point is helpful.
