Forbes Atlas Moth Rothschildia forbesi (R. lebeau) Larvae

Rothschildia species are easy to rear. The larvae of Rothschildia forbesi, also known as R. lebeau, change from striped yellow and black to green, with a bold lateral line dividing the paler, downy underside. They thrive on Privet and grow quickly in warm temperatures. Native to Central and South America, the Forbes’ Atlas Moth stands out for its large size, intricate wing patterns, and nocturnal habits. In its adult stage, it does not feed, surviving instead on fat reserves built up during its larval phase.
