Protaetia aeruginosa (Jewel flower beetle) 2nd - 3rd Instar X5
Protaetia aeruginosa, the Jewel Flower Beetle, is a well‑known European species in the UK hobby, admired for its impressive range of adult colour forms. Newly emerged beetles can appear in deep black, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, or red, often with a bright metallic sheen that makes each individual stand out. Larvae are offered unsexed in L1, L2, and L3 instars and are dependable growers under standard flower beetle conditions.
Larvae thrive on decaying wood, especially oak, beech, and chestnut, and they readily take additional fruit and jelly pots. Their full development usually spans 12–15 months and includes a required cool diapause period during the third instar or at pupation to ensure proper adult formation. Adults are hardy, active beetles that show natural foraging and display behaviours when provided with a deep, nutritious substrate and regular access to soft fruits or jellies.
Suitable for keepers of all experience levels, you will receive L2-3 unsexed Larvae x5
